The Akomplice team was in the airport last year coming back from Europe when they heard Mr. Chu’s quote on CNN. They immediately looked into the reality of this very bold statement and came to the realization it was indeed a feasible solution. They then teamed up with Santa Monica's Conveyor Fred Segal and created "The Paint Project", a special product collaboration that promotes cool roofs as a viable means of slowing down global warming.

The Paint Project (retail price $49) features a limited edition t-shirt, an Akomplice x Conveyor Fred Segal paintbrush and a hand-numbered certificate of authenticity – all packaged inside a custom paint can. The Paint Project debuts at the Fred Segal store in Santa Monica, CA at 7pm today, marking the beginning of their six continent tour which will spread awareness about the project globally.
