SKA TO ROCKSTEADY

"Ba Ba Boom" by The Jamaicans. Consisting of Tommy Cowan, Norris Weir and Martin Williams, The Jamaicans were signed to Treasure Isle Records and produced by the legendary Duke Reid. This was their first and most popular track, which was written in celebration of the Jamaica Independence Festival in 1967. A big tune at the time, "Ba Ba Boom" was another example of rocksteady's emergence in the dance scene, as ska became a thing of the past. -Dread Perry-
