Malcolm Robert Andrew McLaren (22 January 1946 – 8 April 2010)
Not breaking any exclusive news, but we definitely wanted to tip our hat to a pioneer who has passed on. Malcolm Mclaren has been influential in the punk scene by managing and executing groundbreaking initiatives for The Sex Pistols and New York Dolls. If that wasn't enough in the early 80's as a solo artist McLaren released songs that searched the boundaries of contemporary music for underrepresented genres found in the hard streets of New York City and the townships of South Africa during apartheid. This groundbreaking approach and general open-mindedness to world culture deserves a salute. -Safari-
